New York-based artist Orly Genger's work for the IMA, entitled Whole, is her largest and most ambitious to date. Thousands of feet of painted rope piled into an all-encompassing installation, Genger's sculpture is conceived in response to its surroundings and invites viewers to explore its interior. The work challenges typical associations with craft and textile handiwork through its highly physical creation process.
