Many business leaders today are operating in an economic climate that they've never previously experienced-the biggest economic downturn in a generation. There are no easy answers to the difficult problems you face. Yet amidst these challenges, human resource strategies must be defined and prioritized to position your enterprise to compete post-recession.
This presentation will focus on the most important of those strategies and offer an opportunity for interaction so you can share and learn best organizational development practices for weathering the current storm.
Topics covered will include:
* How to balance cost-cutting with protecting market share and long-term competitiveness
o Impacts of downsizing on productivity
* Building the culture you need to succeed
o Communication
o Motivation
o Training
o Recruiting
* Planning for post-recession
Discussion will also be centered on three major internal challenges that savvy business leaders must focus their time and attention as we begin to emerge from the recession:
* Re-building and re-energizing a workforce - "culture creation"
* Simplifying and streamlining processes to meet the strategic and competitive goals, not simply cost-cutting, and engaging the workforce in the that effort
* Meeting the real needs of the top performers and high-quality recruits that will provide the strong leadership necessary to mitigate future risks
