OREN AMBARCHI is a Sydney-based electronic guitarist who transcends conventional approaches to the instrument. His explorations focus on ?re-routing the instrument into a zone of alien abstraction where it?s no longer easily identifiable as itself. Instead, it?s a laboratory for extended sonic investigation.? In addition to performing solo and as a member of drone-metal juggernauts SunO))), Ambarchi often collaborates with Keith Rowe, Fennesz, and Phill Niblock. His recent solo releases Grapes from the Estate (Touch, UK) and Triste (Southern Lord, US) have extended the horizons of drone-based music and garnered Ambarchi international acclaim.

This concert will Ambarchi's first Boston performance and is a rare state-side appearance. It will also be the first in an on-going series of collaborative programs between the BCA and Non-Event.
