You are invited to join a discussion on the current and future business opportunities for entrepreneurs in the Healthcare IT and Life Sciences market space. Find out about the shortcomings of the current healthcare system, and how they can be overcome. How does this create productive opportunities and open doors for entrepreneurs? How can you raise funding to start and grow businesses in Healthcare IT and Life Sciences?

PANELISTS:
•David Eichler, Managing Member, Psilos Ventures
•Neal Ganguly, President, HIMSS-NJ, and CIO, CentraState HealthCare System
•Phil Chan, Partner, NJTC Venture Fund
•Vikas Khosla, Founder, BluePrint HealthCare Technologies (as Moderator)

The panel discussion will focus on two key market segments:
I) The Healthcare IT group, featuring a hospital Chief Information Officer and a Healthcare IT venture capitalist, and
II) The Life Sciences group, featuring two venture capitalists specializing in Life Sciences.

In Healthcare IT, key issues to be highlighted include inefficiencies, weaknesses, and cost structure failings that plague the healthcare industry today:
•The rising costs of healthcare for consumers,
•The "tug-of-war" reimbursement model between payers (insurance companies) and providers (hospitals, doctors),
•Unacceptably high rates of medical errors,
•The need for computerization, and
•The shortage of quality healthcare professionals.

Solutions to some of these challenges will be discussed. Forecasts estimate that healthcare providers will spend as much as $39.5 billion on information technology this year alone. Our panelists will discuss its relevance to entrepreneurs.

Within Life Sciences, opportunities in Biotechnology and Pharmaceuticals will be discussed. In 2005, the U.S. biotech sector raised $19.7 billion in capital, the sector's second highest total in five years. The New Jersey-Pennsylvania corridor is a hot-bed of biotech and pharma activity. With the large number of academic research institutions in the region, biotech and pharma start-ups are plentiful in this area. Our Life Sciences panelists will discuss the state of the industry and where the opportunities are within this sector.
