Cambridge, Massachusetts 02138

After a spectacularly successful inaugural event in January, with the room filled to capacity, and over a hundred people turned away, Opera Boston Underground returns to the Lizard Lounge (1667 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge) on Wednesday, April 4. The show is 21+ and there is an $8 cover charge. Doors open at 7 and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.. Advance tickets are not available.

Opera Boston Underground will again be hosted by Opera Boston Music Director Gil Rose, as well as mezzo Glorivy Arroyo and tenor Christian Figueroa, with piano accompaniment by Angela Gooch. The theme of this show will be “French Kisses: Songs of French and American Cabaret.” The program will feature French and American composers, with selections primarily sung in English. Professional singers as well as conservatory students will be invited to participate. Singers interested in participating should contact [email protected].

Opera Boston seeks to extend its reach by providing non-traditional venues for opera performance. Not only will it demystify opera for new audience, but it also gives young Opera Boston singers the chance to try out different repertoire in a fun, informal setting.
