Opening Reception for Fabric Connection Art Quilt Exhibition January 31, 2009

Join us for the opening reception for Fabric Connection, the New England Quilt Museum's new exhibition of the work of seven Swiss contemporary quilt artists. Fabric Connection highlights the diversity and innovation of seven pioneering artists, each with her own distinct style. Maryline Collioud-Robert, Beatrice Lanter, Elizabeth Portmann, Ursula Kern, Ursula Koenig, Katherina Della Chiesa, and Sylvia Einstein have developed strong contemporary styles, some with a stunning exuberance, others with an enthralling tranquility. Each artist has also developed her own groundbreaking techniques, including experiments in texture, color, and form. The reception features a gallery talk by one of the artists, Sylvia Einstein. Sponsored by Swissnex, the Swiss Consulate in Boston. Catering is by Swiss Bakers, and features traditional Swiss pastries and beverages.
