The works of five graduating seniors from NMSU Bachelor of Fine Arts program will be on exhibit at the Branigan Cultural Center in Las Cruces from December 7 to December 29, 2007. An opening reception with the artists is set for Friday, December 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. as part of the 1st Friday Ramble. The public is invited to attend.

In addition to the student show, the Cultural Center invites the public to view the Ballet Folklorico exhibit that continues through December 29, 2007. This exhibit displays 29 dance costumes, on loan from Jose Tena, representing 14 states in Mexico. The Art of Ballet Folklorico is enhanced by the photography of David Shaw and book illustrations by Flo Hosa Dougherty for The Man Who Set the Town Dancing.

The new permanent display, Las Cruces: Crossroads of History recently opened to rave reviews. The exhibit features a comprehensive look at the history of Las Cruces and the Mesilla Valley spanning the past 400 years. Through the use of photographs, documents, artifacts, and narrative, the story of the Las Cruces crossroads developing from a dusty collection of adobe settlements to the vibrant city of today is unveiled.

Branigan Cultural Center is located at the north end of the downtown mall. Parking is accessible from the intersection of Water and Hadley streets. There is no charge and the Cultural Center is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Cultural Center is accessible.
