Las Cruces -- The Branigan Cultural Center presents Dennis Lujan’s “Emotional Rescue – The Dream Catchers” in an exhibition from Friday, March 4, 2011 through Saturday March 26, 2011. A reception is to be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 during the monthly Ramble between 5PM and 7PM.

This show is comprised of digital collage dream catchers and medicine wheels created by Las Cruces resident Dennis Lujan. Using digital grunge art, each collage conveys a message about our environment through a dream catcher. In his art, Mr. Lujan uses many materials that have been discarded as trash. Rusty pipes, diamonds, old doors and carved marble are utilized as is water. Through these beautiful yet sometimes painful images, the viewer sees what we experience within our surroundings.

With his digital images of dream catchers, Mr. Lujan presents unique and evocative imagery that “…presents the dream and takes you on a journey of emotional ideas.” Mr. Lujan believes that art is completely subjective and that an individual must, “Make it your own…Make it mean the way YOU see it.”

The Branigan Cultural Center is located at the north end of the Downtown Mall in Las Cruces at 501 N. Main Street. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9AM to 4:30PM. For more information, contact the Branigan Cultural Center at (575) 541-2154 or visit the Center’s web site at www.las-cruces.org/museums.
