Opening Thur, Feb 28, 5-7pm; Exhibit runs through April 15

Please join us for the public opening of a selection of Hawaiian seascapes by San Francisco artist Dennis Hanshew.

The pieces presented in this showing are an evocative collection of work, created primarily in the 1980s. The series as a whole invites meditation on the lyrical and ephemeral nature of the relationship of the ocean to the shore, and in doing so draw the viewers back unto themselves.

Born and raised in the Bay area, Hanshew completed his primary artistic training at the University of Hawaii. Hanshew conceptualizes himself as a "painter's painter," in that "the work is first and foremost about paint."

This exhibition will benefit Kid's Turn, a local nonprofit that provides services for children and families in the context of familial separation. For more information about Kid's Turn, please visit www.kidsturn.org

The exhibition will run through April 15th, 2013.
