Las Cruces, NM – Public is cordially invited to attend a preview reception for the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition, “Bittersweet Harvest: Bracero Program, 1942-1964,” on Friday, May 21st from 5 to 7 pm. The exhibit will be on display at the Branigan Cultural Center May 22 through July 24, 2010. The bilingual exhibit uses oral histories and photographs to tell the story of the “bittersweet” struggle of the largest guest worker program in U.S. history.

The Branigan Cultural Center, 501 N. Main Street, is located at the north end of the downtown mall in Las Cruces. The exhibits and events are free and open to the public.
