The Media Centre, 7 Northumberland Street
Huddersfield, England HD1 1RL

The regular Huddersfield OpenCoffee event.

Are you working, training to work or hoping to work in any aspect of the 'Digital' industry? Do you work with or support the people or companies involved in creative or technology ventures? Are you a successful entrepreneur wanting to mentor, offer advice or even just check out whats happening? Are you an academic or researcher connected with creative or technology centred subjects?
Do you have a great idea for a business venture or a product but just don't know what to do about it?

If yes to any of the above, then OpenCoffee is for you.

OpenCoffee Huddersfield is a melting pot event attracting entrepreneurs, hackers & software developers, designers, innovators, animators, techies. film makers and geeks as well as the investors, accountants, mentors, business advisers and legal advisers who support their efforts.

OpenCoffee is a kind of 'open house' event - informal, unstructured and a meetup. Come along and talk to people about your company, your ideas, problems - it's a great way to strike up a conversation which may never otherwise have happened and maybe you'll find a kindred spirit, someone to work with to realize your ideas or business plans or even just get some good opinion, feedback and advice.

Offering a blend of coffee, code, cakes and company each month to the vibrant creative and technology communities around Huddersfield the event is part of a global network of over 80 other towns and cities with OpenCoffee meetups.

We'd love you to come demo, chat, show & tell or just hang out. Do let us know if you're coming and let your friends know too :)

This month we are going to kick off with a couple of 5 minute 'lightning talks'

1. Ann Storey from the Media Centre will talk about some exciting new initiatives to support entrepreneurs and 'Web workers'.

2. Ian Pringle will discuss grass-roots innovation

We will also provide an area for anyone who wishes to demo their product or prototype.

There is no need to book a demo spot but feel free to let us know in advance if you want to show your wares. If you have an idea for an interesting lightning talk topic for a future event, get in touch with Ann Story via The Media centre or grab Ian or Ann at the event.
