On April 2nd, 2013, there will be a free art show at San Francisco State University showcasing Eric Van Note's collegiate work. From 6:30-8:30 pm the Martin Wong Gallery will be open, and you will have the opportunity to view the art and meet the artist.

The name of the show, 'On Human Nature', harkens to E. Wilson's 1979 book of the same name, a text about evolutionary psychology. Inborn behavior is a huge hot button for the artist, and the concept is referenced heavily in his work. Concentrating mainly on the negative aspects of human 'nature', the realistically rendered, surrealist work beckons the viewers in, to show them an aspect of humanity and ask them to consider its place in their life.

A San Francisco Bay Area native, Van Note blends personal experience, current events, and fantastic visions into his work, creating a darkened mirror for the viewer to look at familiar, but often under discussed, through.
