“Oliver Jones is one of the world’s best piano players. He’s in a class with Oscar Peterson, Arthur Rubenstein, and the late Glenn Gould. His speed with either hand boggles the mind.”
—Montreal Gazette

Oliver Jones is Canada’s undisputed heavyweight champion of jazz piano. Born in Montreal, he took lessons from Daisy Peterson, Oscar’s sister, and became a jazz prodigy. His career has since taken him around the world. With an impressive catalogue boasting over 15 releases, Jones has demonstrated repeatedly that he is Canada’s greatest gift to the piano since Oscar Peterson. His latest CD, One More Time (Justin Time)—which alludes to his reemergence on the concert front after a brief hiatus—is no exception.

All the familiar trademarks are there: the unmistakable finesse, lightening-fast technique, graceful innovation, and articulation ranging from delicate clean lines to powerful, rollicking rhythms. And he swings like crazy! Oliver has received numerous awards including the Order of Canada and the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement. With Eric Lagacé bass and Jim Doxas drums.
