Hailing from Dallas, the Old 97's have turned their alt-country and rock roots into rockin' power-pop over the years. Formed in 1993 by frontman Rhett Miller and bassist Murry Hammond, the group, which also includes drummer Philip Peeples and lead guitarist Ken Bethea, is currently on their "Too Far to Care" tour, which celebrates the 15th anniversary of that album, which first put them on the map, so to speak, and had them joining the Lollapalooza tour that summer. They are also supporting their latest studio album, 'The Grand Theatre Volume 2.'
