OKLAHOMA!, Rodgers and Hammerstein's landmark musical,
will be presented by the Mainstage Center for the Arts on Fridays and
Saturdays, July 20, 21, 27, and 28, at 7:30 pm.

OKLAHOMA!, based on Green Grow the Lilacs by Lynn riggs made it's
debut March 31, 1943, at Broadway's St. James Theatre. It was an
instant hit, running for over five years and more that 2,2000
performances. OKLAHOMA! Has won many accolades including a special
Pulitzer Prize (1944), a special Tony Award, and induction into the
Grammy Awards Hall of Fame.

OKLAHOMA!, Rodgers' and Hammerstein's first collaboration, set
standards for modern musical theatre with classic musical numbers "Oh
What a Beautiful Mornin'," "People Will Say We're In Love," "The
Surrey With The Fringe On Top" and the title song. Set in the
territory of Oklahoma at the turn of the century, against a back round
of the rivalry between cattlemen and farmers, OKLAHOMA! Is the story
of the farm girl, Laurey (Kelly Karcher, Mary Fajardo alternating
weekends) and two rivals for her affection Curly ( Paul Sommers) and
Jud (A.J. Johnson, Nestor Gonzales)

OKLAHOMA! is the only Broadway show tune to become a state song and
the first Broadway musical to be commemorated in a U.S. postage stamp.

Tickets for OKLAHOMA!, presented by Mainstage Center for the Arts, are
$15.00 for adults, $13.00 for seniors, and children under 12, and can
be purchased on line at www.mainstage.org or by calling 856-227-3091.
