Set during the American Depression of the 1930s, George and Lennie have arrived to work as ranch-hands on a farm in California. The two drifters are desperate to fulfill their dream of buying a farm of their own and living off "the fat o' the land". Lennie is a simple man-child, but a gentle giant who is obsessed by things soft and cuddly. But when a horrific crime takes place, Lennie is the likely suspect.
