At the forefront of innovation and in support of up and coming artists, ODC's Pilot 62 Kinetoscope...This Time With Pictures offers emerging choreographers creative mentorship and presentation on a grand scale. This is the first time the Pilot Program has a designated theme: Dance For Camera.

Pilot Program 62 features 6 rising dance film artists presenting dance films and live multi-media performances. Erin Malley, fresh from the previous Pilot series, presents her first dance film, Steadfast Body, Marshmallow Heart, about a legless, armless mannequin that attempts various dance classes in the Bay Area. Mary Mailhot, a transplant from New York, debuts a new film and live performance, Subject to Change, a piece about how the architecture of sound, space and visual stimulation riles the senses and can alter or heighten perception. Minna Harri, features two juxtaposed dance films in y...ourself that explore the complications of both being an individual and part of a group. Harri is known as a mover and shaker in the Bay Area experimental scene. In her first dance for camera, writer, director, and choreographer Sophia Schrank creates a psychological joy ride from the bleakness of her subject's reality to the depths of her most beautiful dreams in Animals in the Mirror. Based on a True Story, a film and live dance by Caitlin Hafer, examines the expectations we place on ourselves to meet society's standards. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Hafer creates and produces her own work in the Bay Area and dances with Here Now Dance Collective. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, choreographer Kristin Torok integrates film and live performance to examine the collage of memories which are bound by the spaces we inhabit and create the context of our lives in House. With an exciting new frontier of "Dance for Camera", Kinetoscope is a visual and kinesthetic feast that is not to be missed.
