Octagon Benefit Auction Gala April 1, 2006

Each year, the Octagon Center for the Arts holds an auction to support the programs this spirited community art center provides. With the help of many volunteers, the Octagon churns out an amazing number of exciting arts opportunities for Ames and the surrounding communities. This year, the benefit auction is a very special event as the Octagon is celebrating its fortieth birthday!

On auction will be Blenko glass, original paintings, handcrafted pottery, photography, stained glass, blown glass, sculpture, jewelry, prints and more. Art on the auction block is for the avid collector or first time buyer. Consider this fundraiser a great opportunity to decorate your walls while supporting the arts!

A variety of other items will also be up for auction, including vacation get-a-ways, spa packages, gift certificates to area restaurants, autographed sports memorabilia and golf excursions. The auction will be Saturday, April 1, at Quality Inn & Suites, 2601 E. 13th Street, Ames. Doors open at 5:30 with a reception, live music by the Central Iowa Symphony Brass Quintet, and silent auction. Live auction begins at 6:30.
