Hollywood Film Star Louis Gossett Jr. will be in Nashville on Sunday night to promote early voting in this year's election. Gossett, a supporter of Democratic Nominee Barack Obama, will be addressing a crowd with a "get out the vote" message at The Flying Saucer on Sunday night from 6pm-8pm. The event is free and open to the public at 111 10th Ave S (21 and up only).
Gossett, who has starred in a variety of movies, such as "An Officer and A Gentleman" and the "Iron Eagle" film series, was an early supporter of Senator Obama in this year's election. "It is definitely time for a comprehensive spiritual and emotional change in our country, and he represents that," Gossett said while in Denver for the Democratic National Convention in August.
Campaign officials hope to see a high turnout among early voting this year, which takes place from October 15-30.
