Obama and the Future of the Imperial Presidency March 25, 2009

During the last administration, Executive authority expanded to an unprecedented level. This evening’s program will focus on abuses of power and violations of civil liberties during the Bush administration and what needs to be done by the Obama White House to redress these transgressions. Panelists will include Michael Ratner, President, Center for Constitutional Rights; Elizabeth Holtzman, former Brooklyn D.A. and author of The Impeachment of George W. Bush; and Lewis Lapham, former editor of Harper’s magazine. The panel discussion will be followed by a book signing.
