On November 2, 2008, doctors in delivery rooms across the city will struggle to rationalize the sudden, "Village-of-The-Damned" style mass births sweeping the 5 boroughs like Californian wildfire. But no worries! Just ask someone who was at the PULSEWAVE show nine months earlier and they'll tell you how it all went down.

This February, take your loved one by the hand and head down to THE TANK for a special Valentine's Day themed installment of the only monthly series devoted to the use of low bit video game technology in order to create sights and sounds that will get your blood pumping as hard as your...fist.

The incredible lineup begins with the long overdue return of Philadelphia's Joey Mariano as ANIMAL STYLE. The "Sounds Like" section of his myspace says, "If a pale and pasty jazz guitar player started sequencing jazz fusion melodies over chiptune tracks --OR-- robot monkies with NES controllers stapled to their forheads screaming in ASCII code." You be the judge. There's also a picture of EIGHT effects pedals hooked up to a Game Boy. Seriously, why would you miss this?

Coming up next is the equally long overdue Pulsewave debut of the winsome pop arrangements of Brooklyn's own 8BIT BETTY. This post on a random message board says it all:
=============
8 bit betty’s cover of the "Reading Rainbow" theme is my 9 month old son’s favorite song. Whenever he’s cranky I play that song for him and he starts smiling every time. Go Betty!

Well put, hibiscusroto-san...well put.

And, if for some insane reason your cold, robotic heart still feels nothing by now, your last hope rests within the A and B buttons of one man. One part supernova and two parts fire-breathing-dragon-clutching-a-half-naked-woman-in-its-claws, NULLSLEEP delivers an impassioned performance that continues to make him a legend in this time and whatever year in the future he came from.

with NO-CARRIER's colorful, fast paced Nintendo Entertainment System based visuals setting the stage for this epic love-in, this show is NOT TO BE MISSED.

And of course you should show up even earlier for another glorious round of "PULSEWAVE OPEN MIC". Sign up at the door on a first come, first serve basis, and get yourself a taste of the awesome power of live electronic performance. You aren't limited to any one genre, but you will have a max of three mins, so keep your rock short, sweet and to the point. And who knows, you might get asked to play a Pulsewave show in the future!
