During World War II, when the Nazis held Europe and much of the world in terror, the people of Albania acted on 'Besa,' their highest code of ethical honor, by putting aside all religious differences and endangering their own lives in order to save the lives of Jews. The photographs in this exhibit, along with their accompanying text, convey the essence of 'Besa' within each subject.
