Two established psychologists and Norfolk County residents with practices in Medway and Medfield have joined forces to offer a day-long workshop to help clinicians integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into their therapeutic practice. Carol Perlman, Ph.D. and Jacqueline Vorpahl, Ph.D. will lead “Improving Patient Outcome with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy” on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Hampton Inn in Natick, MA. Dr. Perlman, a former staff psychologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, currently practices in Medway and will lead the program for clinicians treating adults. Medfield psychologist Dr. Vorpahl, a child and family therapy specialist formerly on staff at BU School of Medicine, will teach the child/adolescent program. Both workshops are approved to offer Continuing Education credits for psychologists and licensed social workers.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a unique therapeutic approach that focuses on the interaction between how people think and feel, and the ways they act. Workshop attendees will receive hands-on training in adapting the tools and techniques of CBT into their own therapeutic style.

The registration fee for “Improving Patient Outcome with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy” is $225; $200 for groups of three or more registering together; $100 for students. For registration or more information go to www.carolperlman.com or www.vpa-psychologist.com.
