Non-Violent Direct Action & Grassroots Organizing Workshop

Presented by GREENPEACE and the Sierra Club (Prairie Chapter)

On Aug 19 at 1:00, GREENPEACE and the Sierra Club will unite forces to
provide the first in a series of workshops designed to give you the tools you need to create some change and stop one of the most environmentally devastating projects on the face of the planet - the Alberta Tar Sands.

The first workshop will explore non-violent direct action (NVDA) and its use in getting social and environmental change. With the help of trainers from GREENPEACE and the Sierra Club, workshop participants will learn about the history of NVDA as well as acquiring a basic understanding of the techniques involved. The second workshop will be in grassroots organizing and how to build people power and alliance building. These are interactive workshops for all skill levels so be prepared to be active.
