Galeria de la Raza is proud to present No Distance Is More Awesome, an exhibition examining immigration that features 19 contemporary Latino artists from North and South of the U.S./Mexico border. Artworks range from conceptual-based photography and installations to documentary photos and videos. While the exhibition touches on immigration issues within the context of border politics, globalization, the culture of fear, labor, cultural assimilation, and the pro & anti-immigrant movements, it is not designed to provide an encyclopedic understanding of immigration history and policy but to a give viewers a glimpse of the issue from the perspective of contemporary Latino Artists.

The exhibition will be Galeria's largest show ever, taking place both in the main gallery as well as at Studio 24, Galeria's new multi-purpose venue at the corner of 24th and Bryant. In conjunction with the exhibition, Galeria will host a weekly series of films and videos that shed light on this multilayered issue.
