Niyaz is an acoustic/electronic project that brings together three prominent musical figures in a new fusion of traditional Persian music and modern beats. Vocalist Azam Ali of the duo Vas, Axiom of Choice's instrumentalist Loga Tamin Torkain and producer/remixer Carmen Rizzo have joined forces to create a sound the trio calls "folk music for the 21st century." Niyaz fuses the mystical poems of the Sufi poets with music accessible to a contemporary audience.
