The Nihilistics were a sort of garage punk band based in Sheffield in the mid-1980s. We played a few gigs and sold a few tapes, but that was as far as it went - at the time. Our real claim to fame was that we once did a gig with the Inspiral Carpets.

The Nihilistics recently got a name check in a list of great gigs in Sheffield - so - nearly 20 years later, when loads of bands that were around at the time are doing "re-union" gigs - we thought it would be fun to get together ourselves.

And... yes we do know that there is another band called the Nihilistics, a yank punk band (I'd never heard anything by them until now, but you can listen to some of their stuff on their website - I'd recommend "After Death" for starters) - but we hadn't heard of them before we decided on the name, 20 years ago.
