Newtown Festival 2006 November 11, 2006

As in previous years, the Festival will host non-stop entertainment on 2 stages and 3 performance areas. The Festival has seen the likes of Blue King Brown and the Redsunband. The 2006 lineup is bringing you some huge acts such as KING TIDE and CODA.

The Jugular (Main) Stage,(Federation Road) and Essential (Lennox Street) stages will return again in 2006 and provide live entertainment from some of the east coast's finest as well as a large mix of Newtown locals. Come and groove to the myriad of sounds from world, funk, soul, alternate, hip-hop and reggae.

This year we have a big representation of top indigenous bands inclduing Oka from the Sunshine Coast and Sydney local Radical Son.

2ser will support the Festival again this year by providing funky grooves to dance to in the 2ser dance stage area.

Newtown local Better Read than Dead will again host the Writer's Tent which will have a great program of spoken word, talks and music.

The Kids Zone has had a lot of attention this year and is sure to be a must for families. There will be fun, entertainment, activities and fun and did we mention fun!!

Come and check out the Eco Zone for tons of handy hints, tips, workshops and advice that will show you how easy it is to be 'green'. Newtown residents have potential to lead the way in Sydney; showing how cooperative communities can do their bit, even in small, limited spaces that will make a positive difference to the environment. All workshops are free.
