Imagine hundreds shakin' and quakin' to the most exciting soul 45s of all time in the charming confines of the newly renovated Glasslands! At the Soul Clap and Dance-Off New York Night Train Soul Proprietor Mr. Jonathan Toubin twirls explosive 45s spanning late-r&b to early funk but centering on mid-60s burners - exclusively for your dancing pleasure at this new and improved Glasslands rager. This monthly Brooklyn institution, heralded everywhere from the Village Voice "Voice Choices" to Flavorpill, includes one of the city's wildest and most unusual DANCE CONTESTS at 1AM (get in it! winner gets 1/2 the door after paying the door guys - which has been as much $300!) hosted by the lovely MC Laura Leigh. Plus, get there early for FREE BEER FROM 11PM – MIDNIGHT.

This time the Dance-Off will feature guest DJ Beyonda, the chief rocker of two of Portland’s top parties, I've Got A Hole In My Soul and Queer Night – who’s as well known for her mixes as her amazing soul 45s from her former home of Memphis.

The dance contest will be judged by the owners of NYC’s top watering holes:

Kristin Vincent and Nadia Koch of Home Sweet Home (Kristen also spent the early to mid 2000s as half of the world-famous DJ duo Syrup Girls )

Francesca Romeo of Motor City (who is also a well known photographer whose show just opened at Chelsea’s Daniel Cooney Fine Art Gallery (511 w. 25th) yesterday)

Laura Rodgers of Daddy’s (Laura is also half of the prolific post-punk band Rogers Sisters who’ve had a number of releases on Troubleman Unlimited, Too Pure/Begger’s, Rough Trade, etc)

Michael Stewart of Beauty Bar (Michael also travels the world as the power pop DJ behind the Gotta Have Pop night)
