About The Tank:

A non-profit organization, The Tank opened its doors on May 31, 2003, its mission to provide a welcoming, creative, collaborative, and affordable environment for artists and activists engaged in the pursuit of new ideas. It quickly became known as a center for unconventionality where creativity, community, and risk-taking prevailed over money, competition, and exclusivity.

Over the past four years, The Tank has presented over a thousand live and special events in theater, film, comedy, dance, public affairs, and mixed media and music. New works find a home, artists find an environment where they can devise as well as present, and audiences find welcoming ticket prices for a dynamic schedule that has given nontraditional programming a stage in the heart of Manhattan.
