New Works by Barry Roebuck October 8, 2010

Petersburg Area Art League (PAAL) announces its upcoming exhibit, in conjunction with Old Towne Petersburg's Friday for the Arts! Festival on Friday, October 8, 2010.

Please help us welcome local artist Barry Roebuck to PAAL, as he reveals his latest collection of work in our main gallery.
As Barry describes his work, “Each piece starts with the simple nature of Chinese printing ink, graphite and paint on wood and ceramic tile, followed by the documentation of accidental drips, smudges and imperfections. Eventually, visual clues allow for deliberate marks to expose more meaning. In turn, these one-of-a-kind works reveal a possible place, time or narrative. The discovery is left to the imagination of the viewer.”
Barry is a Virginia Commonwealth Univeristy, School of the Arts alumnus. His paintings have been exhibited in Virginia, New York, China, Uzbekistan and Korea.
Barry’s show will open Friday, October 8, and run through Saturday, November 6, 2010.
