The New Statesman would like to invite you to an evening debate and social event as part of the 2007 New Media Awards.

Members of Parliament have voted to give themselves £10,000 each a year to spend on things like websites to boost "public understanding" of Parliament; but how should this be spent and can MPs be trusted to spend this money wisely? We invite you to join us to debate:

“Will MPs use their Communications Allowance effectively?”

Key speakers:

Derek Wyatt MP, chairman, All Party Internet Group
Tom Steinberg, founder and director, mySociety
David Wilcox, consultant, writer, trainer

Chaired by Kathryn Corrick, journalist and digital media consultant

The discussion for this event will be followed by a question and answer session.

This is a FREE event and refreshments will be provided, plus access to the beautiful Middle Temple Lane gardens.

Places are limited. Please email Charlotte Eisenhart at the New Statesman if you would like to attend: [email protected]
