An intense look at the dark side of American suburbia

Neil Labute’s rarely performed, darkly humorous expose of life in suburbia. Labute, the author of Bash, The Shape of Things, and films such as In the Company of Men and Nurse Betty, dissects the lives of three youths living in a suburban wasteland as they collide in a suffocating web of anger, deception and violence, turning his microscope from the halls of white collar privilege to the grunge filled streets of suburbia. “The Distance from Here” delves into the dangers of hopelessness and reveals a glimmer of possibility in even the darkest of hours.
