Discover a beautiful forest with a park ranger in an area that was once home to American Indians on this loop walk. Imagine a bustling village with dugout canoes on the river bank, smoldering fires smoking fish and game, and piles of freshwater mussel shells. For at least eight thousand years people have used this area. For these people the forests and river were supermarket, building supply, clothier, and drug store. During this walk you will visit the largest natural rock shelter in the park and hear fascinating stories about how these people used the available resources to survive and even prosper. We will also enjoy spring wildflowers, ferns, and the area`s rich diversity of wildlife.
