Come join Citizens for a Better South Florida and Emily Ruff from the Florida School for Herbal Studies in this deliscious and insightful workshop covering native plants of south Florida, with specific focus on edible plants and medicinal plants. As far as possible, we will work with the plants directly, to understand their structure and growing conditions, and begin to familiarize ourselves with identification. We will identify one or more plants growing in abundance and, through hands-on practice, learn ecological harvesting practices. Afterward, we will take our harvested specimen into the classroom or laboratory to experience the tincture-making process.

* Highlight dozens of native edible and medicinal plants, including common name, botanical name, parts used, and ethnobotany uses

* Experience the plants' qualities through organoliptic means via tisanes and infusions

* Discuss ecological harvesting practices and experience these in the field

* Learn the tincture-making process through hands-on experience

Course Fee is $30 and covers all course materials
