Naperville , IL July 31, 2009 –The Naperville Independent Film Festival (NIFF)will kick off its second year with a GHOSTBUSTERS Tribute Bash and conclude with a closing night Awards Gala at the new Hollywood Palms Cinema Eatery. Both evenings will be attended by Celebrity Guests with Mayor Pradel presenting at the finale.

NIFF will take place September 19-26, 2009 at the Holiday Inn Select, 1801 N. Naper Blvd.

Over 100 Filmmakers have entered their projects including Feature Films, Documentaries, Short Subjects, Animation and Screenplays from 19 countries. Their works will be shown and discussed during the week at various sites including the Holiday Inn select, Ogden 6 Theaters and the new Hollywood Palms .

This opportunity to discover new talent and experience possible future Oscar nominees is only part of the attraction of a Film Festival. NIFF will also include a Family Day (Sunday Sept. 20, Holiday Inn Select) with a “Behind the Scenes” look at the making of movies. Industry Professionals will demonstrate such things as acting, make up, stunts and discuss careers in Film.

NIFF was the brainchild of Edmond and Glessna Coisson, who joined with Gary Pradel and Daniel Nigg to form the Founders. After 18 months of extensive planning and effort the first NIFF took place in September 2008 and was called a success after 140 projects from 11 countries took part. Actresses Kay Panabaker (a Naperville resident), Karen Black ( Park Ridge ) and Tanna Frederick along with David Proval (The Sopranos) were the Guest Celebrities in attendance. All were impressed with how extensive the program was and how well the Festival was run.

This year celebrities scheduled to appear include Roger Ebert, Karen Allen (of Indiana Jones) and Jim Peterik (Ides of March) among others.

NIFF is presented by the Arthur Ray Foundation and is participating in a fundraising effort for the Loaves and Fishes with a Progressive Raffle.

“We want the Naperville Independent Film Festival to do for Filmmakers what Ribfest did for Bar B-Q sauce,” stated Glessna Coisson, Co-Founder, “and for the Naperville community.”
