For over thirty years the Mill Valley Chamber Music Society has presented chamber music concerts with affordable tickets prices. All five concerts, plus the annual Marin Music Chest Young Artists Concert, are included in the season subscription cost of $90 general and $45 for patrons 18 and under and full-time college and university students with ID cards. Program: Brahms, Sonata, op. 120, #1; von Weber, Grand Duo Concertant; Mendelssohn, Rondo capriccioso, op.14; D’Rivera, Lecuonerias.
Jon Nakamatsu, who enjoys a continuously expanding career based on a deeply probing and illuminating musicality, returns to give another concert for the Mill Valley Chamber Music Society. He gave his last recital in Mill Valley shortly after winning the Gold Medal at the Tenth Van Cliburn
International Piano Competition. Clarinetist Jon Manasse is internationally recognized for his inspiring artistry, glorious sound and charismatic performing style. He is also principal clarinetist of the American Ballet Theater Orchestra and the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra. Jon Manasse and
Jon Nakamatsu have developed extensive repertoires and lengthy discographies. The Duo's debut CD, an album of the Brahms Clarinet Sonatas, was released early in 2008.
