AT&T and the L Magazine are gathering some of the music industry’s brightest minds to discuss the current music landscape and showcase some of the hottest independent artists today. The event, called the MusicNow Summit, will take place at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn on Wednesday, October 5, from 6:30 – 11:30 p.m.

During the event, popular emerging band Friends will perform, and Shirley Braha of MTV’s Weird Vibes and NYCTV’s New York Noise will give a visual presentation on the importance of the music video.

Following the presentation, indie rocker Ted Leo will headline a panel discussion with industry innovators, including Vince Bannon from Getty Music, Dave Haynes from SoundCloud, Lio Kanine from Kanine Records and Brian Feit from BMF Media on how the industry has changed in the last few years and where they see it going. Following the panel discussion will be a live performance by Ted Leo.

Space is limited, so those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by Oct. 4 through the Summit’s website, www.musicnowsummit.com.
