201 E. Randolph Street
Chicago, Illinois

Presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Millennium Park, Music Without Borders expands this year to eight double-bill concerts June 3 through July 22. In its fifth year, the wildy popular free international music series features traditional folk and pop artists from around the globe.

Hailing from the Sahara Desert, Tinariwen returns to Chicago combining traditional melodies with blues, rock and Arabic influences to create hypnotic, trance-like songs.  With their edgy, soulful sound, Tinariwen's music is often reminiscent of the Mississippi and Chicago blues styles, continuing  to make waves in the American and European rock scene. Presented with IMAN (Inner-City Muslim Action Network) and the 2010 Takin' it to the Streets Festival in Marquette Park. http://www.tinariwen.com
