The Fine Arts Department of the Cleveland Public Library is pleased to present cellist Sara Wolfe on March 20th. 2010 at 2pm in the 3rd floor lobby of the Main Library building (325 Superior Ave., Cleveland, Ohio, 44114). Ms. Wolfe will perform solo cello works by J.S. Bach and George Crumb, as well as the Sonata in D minor op.40 for Cello and Piano by Dmitri Shostakovich. This program is free and open to all ages. Sara Bennett Wolfe is currently a graduate student at the Cleveland Institute of Music, pursuing a Master’s Degree in Cello and Suzuki Pedagogy. She studies performance with Merry Peckham, pedagogy with Melissa Kraut, and orchestral excerpts with Stephen Geber. She is the principal cellist of the Mansfield (OH) Symphony Orchestra, and teaches cello in CIM’s Suzuki and Preparatory Division. Sara earned a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from Indiana University, where her primary teacher was Emilio Colon. She completed a Master's degree in Cello Performance at Ithaca College, where she studied with Elizabeth Simkin and taught as her assistant.
