Mundo ClaveJust as the group name tells in translation we are a grouping of real musicians and all around good guys from different backgrounds and corners of the world living in New York City. We come together every week to play some of the best clave grooves in town.
The ensemble had its beginnings during the Fall of 2005 soon after our first meet with co-founders Dan Sieber (vibraphonist) and Rich Barbera (violinist). These two voices in conjunction with our trumpet and montuno pianist have become our signature sound. Now... add to this great mix a brilliant, seasoned group of percussionists and we have magic in the house.

Whether in 2-3 or 3-2, the Afro-clave is the heartbeat of the Latin Jazz feel, the happiest grooving heartbeat I have ever experienced playing!

Id like to thank the group members for believing in this project from the word go, for giving their time, love and allowing others to hang their hats in the shop.

A special thanks goes to all those whose steps we follow, such as: Cal Tjader, Mongo Santamaria, Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Barretto, Arturo Sandoval, Eddie Palmieri, Dave Valentin, Paquito DRivera, Poncho Sanchez, Ray Vega, Jerry Gonzalez, just to name a few since the list is endless.

Thank you for stopping in and checking us out.
