6 November 2008 - 13 December 2008

OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday, 6 November 2008, 6 - 8 PM
GALLERY TALK: Saturday, 8 November 2008, 1 PM
Sydney Yeager’s new paintings continue to evolve with new angular representations of movement and energy. “… the whole painting is the image, and that image consists of endless color/material fragments in a perpetual state of undulation, with grid structures anchoring the ebb and flow.” – Steven Alexander, painter
Ms. Yeager says of her new work, “I am influenced by what I see as well as by what I think and read. I gravitate toward things in the world that are composed of equal, minute parts. Italian mosaics are an influence on this work, but not any more than the natural limestone outcroppings I see along the shores of Lake Travis, or the flocks of blackbirds that form shapes against the Texas sky.”
