Seattle Center sets up a mammoth 45-foot screen at Mural Amphitheater for the second annual series of family-friendly outdoor films, Movies at the Mural, on consecutive weekends, August 1 –2 and August 8 – 9.

The movies begin at dusk; so arrive early, spread out a blanket under the stars and watch while the sun settles down for the night. The FREE films offer drama, adventure, nostalgia and fun to delight young and old alike. The schedule includes:

The Goonies, August 8: (1985) directed by Richard Donner, screenplay by Chris Columbus and story by Steven Speilberg. A band of kids in Astoria, Oregon, hoping to save their homes from demolition, go on an adventure to find the buried treasure of One-Eyed Willy.

Batman Begins, August 9: (2005) superhero film directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale as Batman. It tells the origin story of the Batman character, with inspirations from the classic Batman comic book storylines.

Midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, August 9: (1975) a cult classic, this musical comedy parodies science fiction and horror films. Starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick, the movie is one of the most well known midnight movies every shown and has enjoyed the longest running theatrical release in film history.
