Movement as Medicine is an outdoor community event to inspire people of all ages to get in motion with dance, yoga, expressive art, and live drumming. This fundraiser is open to the public and all ages are welcome. No prior dance, yoga or art experience is necessary.

Proceeds benefit the Sacramento non-profits The Yoga Seed Collective and Spirit in the Arts, and 5Rhythms dance scholarships.

"Movement as Medicine is born from timeless wisdom that we all need now. Creative movement nurtures the body, mind, and spirit and fosters health and well-being," said Bella Dreizler, founder of Body Joy and certified instructor of 5Rhythms dance. "Practicing 5Rhythms is a moving meditation that puts the body in motion, stills the mind and frees our creative spirit. There are no steps to follow, no choreography to learn, no way to do it wrong. You might think of it as yoga-off-the-mat. Come join the fun, and experience the joy of movement."

Body Joy is the umbrella name for all that Bella Dreizler offers in the Sacramento community: 5Rhythms dance, yoga and physical therapy treatment. 5Rhythms is a movement meditation practice pioneered by Gabrielle Roth in the late 1970s, and classes are currently offered in Sacramento on Thursdays and Sundays. BE2BE Yoga and Dance is a Sacramento-based non-profit that supports yoga and dance within the community, with special focus on people who are economically challenged. The Yoga Seed Collective is Sacramento's first and only non-profit yoga studio, established to provide financially accessible yoga-related services through donation-based yoga classes, community outreach to undeserved and/or vulnerable populations and community support activities for yoga students and teachers. Spirit in the Arts is a unique program that provides free and low-cost creative healing experiences to people from all walks of life. www.bodyjoy.net - www.theyogaseed.org - www.spiritinthearts.org - www.movementasmedicine.net
