Mountain Rose Spring Concert May 9, 2009

Playing hammered dulcimer, guitar and fiddle, Lisa and Heather Malyuk start the evening off with an opening set of original jigs and reels, bittersweet waltzes, driving international rhythms, and fashioned hymns. Next onstage is a round-robin set featuring Michigan-based Yellow Room Gang members Jim Bizer and Rod and Annie Capps. These talented singer-songwriters are known for their humor, rootsy vibe, a touch of twang, and soulful groove. Accomplished guitarists and beautiful voices make for a wonderful evening of engaging songs which draw audiences in. Also appearing will be Mountain Rose poet Merle Mollenkopf.
