¡Descarga! Club Los Angeles proudly welcomes peermusic publishing Singer-Songwriter, MONTY, to its 2nd Saturday showcase at Little Temple in Silver Lake on Saturday, May 12th. MONTY is a prolific songwriter who composes everything from Pop to Cumbia and Regional Mexican; but his love for Soul, Rock and R&B, is what inspires him most when writing material.

He recently completed the production of a full length studio album Ella, comprised entirely of his own Latin-flavored soul/R&B material; for which peermusic brought together a “dream team” to produce the new project; from music production, to the artwork and photography, and the video for the title track. Three of the new tracks on Ella were recorded in Atlanta, and were co-written and produced by “Tricky” Stewart of Redzone Entertainment (Britney Spears, Mya, Tyrese, Rihanna, Avant, and more recently Paulina Rubio). The remaining 8 tracks, were completed in Los Angeles by Grammy? Winning producer Gustavo Borner (Diego Torres, Sin Bandera, and Alejandro Fernandez).

This Argentinean-via-L.A. musician is no stranger to the limelight. In 2004 his composition “Luchare Por Tu Amor” became the theme song to film Zapata, by critically acclaimed director Alfonso Arau (A Walk In the Clouds; Like Water for Chocolate); and it was recorded by famed Mexican Mariachi star and Zapata Actor, Alejandro Fernandez. The second of three sons of the famed Argentinean 60’s Singer, Yaco Monty, Monty began his career at an early age.

He made his T.V. debut at seven and by the time he was 20, he was an accomplished singer, songwriter, and guitarist with his first record deal. He released two successful albums in Argentina entitled Monty, and Voy a Dejarte Loca; and toured with great Latin artists such as Luis Miguel and Ricardo Montaner. Following the critical acclaim of these recordings, and a stint on Argentine television, Monty came to the attention of peermusic who signed him to an exclusive publishing deal.

In 2003, he appeared on the Telemundo hit show "Protagonistas De La Musica"-a Spanish-language cross between Big Brother and American Idol. MONTY was the only cast member who was not only an amazing Vocalist, but also a Songwriter and Musician, and it was this talent that got him as far as the top 5. His appearance on "Protagonistas" garnered him a solid fan base across the country; and he regularly gigs in Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, New York and Miami.
