MINNESOTA MUSIC HALL OF FAMERS MONROE CROSSING RETURN TO MARSHFIELD.

Newly inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame, Monroe Crossing is touring in support of their latest CD, “Live From Silver Dollar City,” and their all-gospel CD “Into The Fire.” Known as “the Midwest’s Premier Bluegrass & Gospel Quintet,” Monroe Crossing has recently performed to sellout audiences at the Portage Center for the Arts, The Sheldon Theatre, The Stoughton Opera House and The Bloomington Center for the Arts. Named after Bill Monroe, the “Father of Bluegrass,” Monroe Crossing is known both for its dynamic stage show and for the warmth it shares on stage--interacting with one another & the audience, and always honoring requests after intermission.

“I dare ANYONE to watch Monroe Crossing and not get happy!"

— D.A. Callaway, Silver Dollar City, Branson MO.

“Your stage presence and interaction with the audience was outstanding. The vocals were amazing, and your musicianship was absolutely top-notch."

— Marty Scarbrough, KASU’s Bluegrass Mondays, Paragould AR

“If you enjoy listening to great gospel music then look no farther.... it doesn’t get any better than this.”

— Al Shusterman - Backroads Bluegrass, Sacramento CA

Monroe Crossing’s two-set performance typically features original compositions and unique arrangements of bluegrass classics such as “Orange Blossom Special” and “I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow,” and gospel favorites like “I’ll Fly Away” and “Amazing Grace.” And don’t be surprised if they include some great “crossing” tunes like The Temptations’ “My Girl” or Etta James’ “At Last,” both found on their 2005 CD “Somebody Like You.” Monroe Crossing has recorded eight CDs, with their most recent being their new live recording, “Live From Silver Dollar City,” and their 2nd all-gospel collection, “Into The Fire.” In addition, their collaborative album with the renowned choral ensemble VocalEssence entitled “The World Beloved-A Bluegrass Mass” was released November 2008.
