If U.K. authors Evelyn Waugh or Kingsley Amis had ever decided to make music, then perhaps the result might've sounded like Momus: articulate, chaotically baroque carnival music that revels in its oddity. Momus (nee Nick Currie) is a Scottish-born singer, songwriter, and provocateur whose music has been careening from acoustic ballads to electro-pop to acid house and back again since the early 80s, when he recorded for iconic post-punk labels like 4AD, Creation, and Cherry Red. He has survived and undfolded in ever less predictable ways over the years. This is one of only four US dates.
