Mohini Attam Recital by Miti Desai. Miti Desai trained as a graphic designer at Sophia College , Mumbai, and later at the Portfolio Centre in Atlanta , USA . However, an abiding urge to explore and internalise the principles of body design led her to the world of classical dance. Having trained earlier in Bharata Natyam, she now found herself drawn to an exploration of movement anchored in a spiritual framework. A student of Mandakini Trivedi at Nateshvari for several years, she has chosen to dedicate her life to the sensuous and lyrical dance style of Mohini Attam. One of the foremost dancers at Nateshvari, she has accompanied Mandakini Trivedi on numerous lecture performances. Her dance is characterized by fluidity of line, a deep understanding of form, and an approach of quiet devotion. She was awarded the Singar Mani title at the Kal Ke Kalaakar Sammelan (2006).
