Fresh from the 15th annual Fisher Poets in Astoria, Moe Bowstern and friends from Astoria's Fisher Poets take the stage for an intimate night of storytelling, poetry and song at The Rialto's Jack London Bar in downtown PDX.

From Naragansett, Rhode Island Jon Campell sings about life on the coast in hilarious and sometime poignant and dark stories about the lives of New England fishermen.
" The humor, characters and sentiments in his songs are instantly recognizable. He tells of catching and releasing whales, and the last of the eastern rigged draggers, and when in "This Boat," an old timer says, " There were so many damn lobsters, they'd almost crawl up on the beach".

*Lara Lee Messersmith-Glavin: Lara Messersmith-Glavin is an educator, writer, and organizer based in Portland, Oregon. She grew up fishing on salmon boats in Kodiak, Alaska, and now performs stories of the bad old days, as well as other travel tales from around the world. As one listener put it, "she's kind of the Luc Sante of the Fisherpoets."

And other scurvy dogs!
